"Fortunately we we did not have to sleep in the Kinshasa airport, but for awhile it looked like we might have to consider it. Even though we had reconfirmed our seats three days prior to the flight, upon getting to the airport we were told that yes, we had confirmed the flight, but not the seats. Apparently that is two completely separate things. It took an hour of arguing to get us on the plane.Once getting past the gate our carry-on bags were searched twice, and the immigration officials and the security people requested a "gift." The checked baggage was left on the tarmac for people to claim and then direct to the correct plane."
