LUN Airport Overview

lusaka airport guideTo help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Lusaka Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.

What to Expect

The single terminal at Lusaka Airport (code: LUN) handles flights across Africa and the Middle East, though a brand new terminal, with a hotel and mall, is expected to open in 2019. Some reviews describe slow, unclear security processes and bathrooms that aren’t exactly clean. Current facilities are limited to a few eateries, cafes, and shops, though we can’t confirm if any are open 24 hours. WiFi is free but not always reliable.  For added comfort while you, a few lounge are available. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.

Sleeping in Lusaka Airport

One review describes a cold terminal with just a handful of benches, which means you’ll likely have to spread out on the floor, so bring a sleeping travel blanket. For uninterrupted sleep, nearby hotels offer shuttle service for a fee. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.

To help us keep this guide up-to-date, you can add or update information or write a review to submit airport tips and photos. You can also visit the airport’s web site for current information.  For more airport information continue scrolling down to explore more in our Lusaka Airport Guide.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.  For more information on Europe’s Schengen Area, click here.
