What to Expect

  • A midsize international airport with two separate terminals for domestic and international flights. A third terminal is currently under construction. A variety of pricey shops and restaurants are available.
  • Filthy and unsanitary restrooms. Bring hand sanitizer and toilet paper!
  • No designated smoking areas means smoky terminals and passengers smoking practically anywhere they wish inside the terminals.

Sharm-el-Sheikh Airport Information

In this guide we may refer to locations as "landside" and "airside". Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Car Rentals

Hertz, Thrifty, and several local car rental agencies offer service onsite in the Arrivals Hall.

Minivans

Shared-ride minivan taxis offer express service between the airport and city center at an affordable price. Confirm the price with the driver before hopping in. Buses usually won’t depart until full, so this is a good option if you’re not in a hurry.

Taxis

Taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area of the airport, 24 hours a day. There are no meters, so negotiate a fare with the driver before starting your journey.
