WARSAW (Central Train Station) (Contributed by ?)
"April 2005 - Arrived to the station from the Warsaw Airport hoping to take a train to Minsk, Belarus. Missed my train, 10 pm, no trains till 6 am. The place is terrible and scary. I am quite an experienced traveller originally from Minsk but I have never seen such an awful place in my life (in the middle of the EU country capital!!). Dirty, smelly, full of homeless people, ladies room closed, ATMs would not accept my card (hmm, worked perfectly well in London), no place to sit or sleep except for the 'waiting lounge' - small room on the 2nd floor (! no elevators/escalators, I am a 22 years old female with a huge suitcase) full of homeless people. Policemen come and kick them out and then leave and these guys come back. No information desk. No nothing. I was blessed to meet one polish family who stopped there to get some medications (the only place that worked was a 24 hour drug store, a small kiosk) who pitied me (yes i guess i looked scared and lost) and they took me to their house to sleep. Thanks god for that cause I cant imagine spending a night there. " Added 24 April 2005
