What to Expect
Luang Prabang Airport (code: LPQ) has a small, recently renovated terminal that offers domestic and regional flights. Expect different security procedures: you’ll pass through security first, then check in with your airline, and then clear immigration only once your gate is called. Eateries are limited to a restaurant outside (in the car park) and two cafes inside the terminal. WiFi is available but may require account sign-up. For added comfort while you wait, economy class passengers can pay to enter an airport lounge. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.

Taxis
Prepaid taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area. Stop at the Prepaid Taxi booth in the Arrivals hall to pay for your ride. You will receive a ticket to give to your taxi driver before boarding.
Tuk Tuks
Travel as the locals do! If your load is light, you can travel at a fraction of the price of a taxi by taking a “tuk tuk,” which passes along the main road near the airport.
