"plenty of room to doss, although little to doss upon except ground or grimy dormitories which you will not be admitted to unless station officials are quite certain that no Brahmin needs accommodating - universal of course in India. Theft here is a huge problem, and there are as many different scams as there are thieves (plenty). Lock everything shut and then lock everything to something immovable before you even consider kipping! Bitter experience proved that railway police are utterly uninterested in any problem you may have."
