PPT Airport Overview

To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Papeete Fa’a’ā International Airport.

What to Expect

Papeete Airport (Code: PPT) consists of two small, interconnected terminals (Domestic and International) under one roof and a smaller domestic terminal within walking distance. The airport has a few snack bars, cafes and a cafeteria, along with a couple of shops, though all but one fast food/bar and duty free shops are on the landside. WiFi is available to help pass the time. Additional comfort can be found through fee-based access to the airport’s first class lounge. See Airport Lounges below for locations and rates.

Sleeping in Papeete Airport

The airport is open 24 hours per day, though sleeping options are apparently limited to floor space or a couple of metal and wooden benches located landside. For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. See Airport Hotels in the guide below or read some traveller reviews for more tips.

Good to Know

There have been reports of credit card scams and long-past-due-date food served at some concessions stands at the airport, so make any purchases with care.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security.
