The RPVT is not an airport it is just a landing strip. It even don't have a fence along the airport and also no landing lights on the runway. Making approach very difficult for the pilots, cause they need to fly by a several feet in the downtown. Also if your flight will arrive dusk or night and also a deteriorating weather conditions., you will expect that your flight will be diverted to RPVM(Mactan Cebu) and you will ride a fast craft that travel 2 hours. But good to say a new airport will be built in the island of Panglao it will accommodate large aircraft like 747,a330, or a340. The new airport is currently under construction. Bohol is one of the best tourism spot in the Philippines nor the world. Like I said if you want to have more tourist, you need to fly them by bigger planes, and if you want to land your bigger planes, you need to have a bigger airport. That is the reason why Bohol built a new international airport.
