"Xiamen airport in Fujian province is a modern, new, medium size facility. It is extremely clean and efficient. It has a bit more of a Chinese feel than Hong Kong or Beijing which could be any big airport. There is limited seating in the pre-security areas but it is comfortable. The departure lounges are very comfortable, however, post 9/11 as in many places, you cannot go thru security too early. The shops are nice, offering the standard duty free goods as well as Chinese items at moderate prices. Food is excellent. And, just for fun check out the giant Christmas/Chinese New Years tree which was still up in mid April. All in all a fairly painless airport experience."
so, just how bad is this airport?
