"Montevideo airport isn't that big which is understandable because the country is solo boring, but two friends and I decided to save a little bit of money and sleep the night in the airport. There's a 24 hour cafe and no one bothered us or asked us what we were doing when we turned up at 9pm brandishing ruck sacks. Although the cafe claimed 24 hour service, there wasn't actually a whole lot to serve us that wasn't cold or stale so we were quite hungry for most of it and in fact one of my friends got a mild case of food poisoning which she still maintains was from that cafe. The seats however, are wooden benches and the air conditioning is the fiercest I've ever experienced. The toilets were OK and nearby which was helpful for a certain person... Unfortunately, due to illness, being absolutely freezing, being hungry and being interrupted for about 5 hours by 4 pre-pubescent boys who insisted on playing on the computer game in the cafe because as the cards disappeared, there appeared a photo of three naked women, we got absolutely no sleep and would not recommend it to anyone. We really don't think we could have slept anywhere else in the airport as there was no carpet and we couldn't get through to the boarding lounge. In fact it's a wonder we ever got our flight as the cafe had no change for our bills and we had to wait till the next shift came on at 6am to get change for our food when we should have checked in at 5.30am."
