"I was travelling with my girlfriend and we aren't made of money so we thought we'd sleep over night at the airport. I had only done it once before on the flight coming the other way from Stansted, and there was no problem there, (it looks like a refugee camp with the amount of people sleeping) so i presumed it would be ok.
Earlier, the previous day, a bloke in the bus station in Eindhoven told us that it closed at 10.30 or something, but we thought he was joking, and pretended he didn't tell us this, Regrettable, he was telling the truth. We arrived earlier and thought that if were asleep by closing time they might not remove us. it did not work, and the security were friendly and polite, as is everyone in the Netherlands. However, they had to do their job so we were kicked out onto the streets of outer Eindhoven. However, they were very friendly and said that if we slept on some benches outside the airport where you may able to get some sleep, and said that the police were based across the road so if there is any trouble just go there.
In the end, it was a good night because we met two fellow travellers who were also in our predicament. one of them spoke english and the other spoke sketchy french with a strong spanish accent, luckily my girlfriend could speak french, so we opened up a bottle and had a laugh in general. We had a tent with us, too small for all of us, so we shared the outer and inner sheet for our new friends to wrap up in and my girlfriend and i has sleeping bags. A very character building experience"
