This is my local airport and unfortunately its more like a third world airport. The first impression you will get is the budget run-down appearance and from this point everything is downhill. Dirty uncomfortable seating, cold departure areas with no entertainment (well none working). Toilets that would not be out of place in a back street pub, unhelpfull staff. Really the whole place is dirty, cold and grubby. And now as an added bonus departing passengers have to pay a 10 airport fee above all other charges, its not surprising that a major airline pulled out of Blackpool airport at the start of the year. Unless something major is done for the passengers using this airport I would expect it to loose its 'International' status before long. I now make the 90 minute travel to Manchester rather than use my 'local' airport.
