Bodrum Airport

Recent Review

First impressions are quite good, its new, modern and clean. Really on arrival its just a typical small airport and everything is fine. Duty free shop reasonable priced similar to those in the holiday resort shops, the only difference is that goods in duty free are genuine and in Bodrum/Gumbet everything and I mean everything is fake!

Departure is an absolute nightmare. Only one check-in desk open for 326 passengers so allow 2 hours to drop your baggage and collect your tickets (no internet check-in) then it gets worse in the departure area. If you are very lucky you will get a seat although most people sit on the floor. Drinks and food are the most expensive that I have ever encountered throughout my many years of travelling the globe. Water (small) 5 euro's, Coke (can) 7 euro's, Beer (glass)10 euro's and if you want a snack, budget on around 25 euro's plus the drink is extra.
Duty free is a lot more expensive on departure than arrival, so if you want your cigs/drinks get them on the way in as on the way out spirits are similar prices to ASDA/Tesco.
My tip would be have a good drink before you go into this airport or it will cost dearly inside especially if you have children (10 euro's for a small ice cream)
