State: Clean and refurbished.
Opening hours: non-stop.
Guards: some policeman and a doorkeeper.
Waiting room: small, with 16 steel benches without armchairs, so one can sleep comfortably.
Toilet: clean and open all night long.
I've spent there only one night, but the clue seems to be at least superficial knowledge of time table. If you don't have a train ticket for the following day you should be able to tell an itinerary which would explain your need to spend the night at the train station. The doorkeeper wasn't inquisitive and the police was not a problem. It would be good if you knew at least some Russian. If you don't play dumb turist.
Oh, would be advisable to have a sleeping bag - it can be cold inside (marbles high ceiling).
