Dijon Train Station

I was the only woman there, among the 8-10 people waiting, but no one spoke the entire time, and everyone seemed just beaten down. -unknown

"Okay, so me and a friend (two girls) were backpacking france, holland, portugal, spain, belgium this summer. We had the same problem of not finding a place to sleep in time over and over again... :-) our own fault though, mostly too busy with other things.. we had our tent... problem in dijon = NO gardens to put it up!!!! Closed parks, camping far away.. We arrived in Dijon by train around 22.30h. Tried to find somewhere to sleep but didn't want to spend money on a hotel... Asked some ppl, eventually ended up at a 24/24HOUR SHOP: NEVER go there!!! They offered us a place to sleep, but if they ever offer you, DONT trust them!!! We got into quite a bad situation! Luckily nothing bad happened 2 us :-) After a few hours we were HAPPY to be back on the street!!! It was 2o'clock at night by then!!! Some nice black guy a one of the cafes told us to go back to the railway station coz there was security!!! If we had only known this earlier!!!!! It was GOOOOOD!! (had a bad experience a few days earlier in Bordeaux - dangerous railway station at night!) we arrived here, looked safe, found this small waiting room FULL of other backpackers, just put our bags down, sleeping bag out and sleeeep... First we were talking a bit, still a bit shocked about what happened, think one guy hated us for that... :) There were no creepy animals or insects, just our scorpion ;) The temperature was just right and no annoying announcements.. good announcements... Well nothing but good comments about this railway station coz for us it was like heaven :-):-)"
