To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Teesside Airport.

What to Expect

durham tees valley airport guideTeesside Airport (code: MME) has a small terminal that offers service to a few European destinations. Facilities include a landside cafe, an airside cafe/bar, and a couple newsstands. Free WiFi is available to help pass the time. For added comfort while you wait, economy class passengers can pay to enter an airport lounge. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.

Sleeping in Teeside Airport

The airport closes nightly from 10:00PM until 6:00AM so it is not possible to stay the night. For uninterrupted sleep, hotels are nearby. See the Airport Hotels section below for more info or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there is a lounge that you can enter by purchasing a lounge pass. Visit the individual lounge page for more details about the lounge itself and to also find out how you can gain lounge access with just an economy class ticket!

Currency Exchange – Available.

Disabled Services – Wheelchairs available, lifts and ramps operate between floors, handicap toilets located throughout. Additional support services are available and can be organized with your airline, tour operator or at the airport directly.

Food & Drinks – At the time of this update, there are no 24-hour food options available. Here are the options, which are open during operational hours:

  • Landside: Xpress Cafe
  • Airside: Xpress Cafe and Bar.

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available

Mobile Charging – There are charging points located throughout the departure waiting area.

Duty Free & Shopping – World Duty Free

Showers – Not available.

Spa – Unwind with a massage before your flight. Bannatyne Spa offers 15-30 minutes massage and skin treatments.

Travel Agencies – If you are arriving in Teesside Valley and need local arrangements or help planning a really last minute trip abroad, there is a Fairs Lloyds Travel Agent at the airport that can probably be of assistance.

Teesside airport is served by the following airlines: Air Nostrum • British Airways • KLM • Ryanair • Loganair • Tui.

transportationAirport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

Arriva North East Bus 12 serves six times a day – two before 9:00AM and four from 3:35PM onwards. The bus runs from Hurworth through Darlington town centre, Morton Park and Middleton St George to the terminal building. For route map, timetables and fare information, visit the Arriva Bus website.

Car Rentals

Enterprise is currently the only onsite car rental agency.

Taxis

Taxis are available on a 24-hour basis at a taxi rank located outside of Arrivals. All taxis are metered, and reservations are not required. 1AB Taxis has a 24-hour booking desk in main terminal.

Train

The nearest train station (6 miles away) is Darlington Railway Station, with service available to and from Durham, York and Newcastle.
