"Due to fog, I spent an unexpected 15 hours at this tiny airport. The backs and seats of the seating were made of cloth-covered wooden slats (no armrests). I tried, but I just couldn't fall asleep - others may have better luck. There was a gift shop and a snack bar, but nowhere to buy English-language reading material. A snack bar employee told me that their policy is stay open until the last flight departs, no matter how late the delay. There is also a hotel, a half-km walk along a muddy farm lane, which has good quality buffet-type meals, a bar, and 25 hotel rooms. Airport announcements are sometimes in the local language (Faroese) only, but friendly locals were always willing to translate for me. The redeeming factor of it all was that the Faroese people were extraordinarily friendly and helpful, both airline employees as well as other passengers. I passed the time by chatting with friendly locals."
