Göteborg Train Station

The main waiting area/lobby is very spacious and has a high arcing ceiling. I imagine things would echo quite well if you needed to cry for help -- pronounced "yelp" in the local tongue. -Svidd

"Alright, so after a night on the town in Goteburg, my buddy picks up a nice Finnish girl (although this is Sweden) and later we proceed to the train station for her and her friend to catch a train home--which doesn't leave until 4 hours later or something.

While the 4 of us are sitting on the benches (old and wooden; some arms, but plenty of space to lay down comfortably) we end up attracting a small hub of activity. Three strangers, as I remember it: a middle-aged twitching drunk whose mental wellbeing I was seriously concerned about; a former professor from University of Chicago (doubtful, based on his limited English); and a youngish bicycling hockey-fan who soon realized he had no reason to be there and left. One of us (the Finnish girl's Swedish friend) actually slept for a few hours on the bench, while the rest of us swatted the twitching drunk away every time he expressed his desire to fondle her.

We didn't see anything that was open. The main waiting area/lobby is very spacious and has a high arcing ceiling. (I imagine things would echo quite well if you needed to cry for help -- pronounced "yelp" in the local tongue.) Looks like an old building, but clean enough since it is in Scandinavia after all. Lots of benches. I would say despite the odd wanderers (of whom there would likely be less on weekdays), it would be a decent place to sleep if necessary."
