Warsaw Train Station

Traveller Comments....

"Worst Train Station on the entire planet in my opinion." (?)

"the place is terrible and scary. I am quite an experienced traveller originally from Minsk but I have never seen such an awful place in my life" (?)

"It seems the Cold War has never ended in Polish train and bus stations, and the cheerful and optimistic atmosphere which has spread throughout this wonderful country has yet to reach the public transportation system." (Milosz)

"I saw many many times people arguing, attacking each other." (Monika)

"I live in Poland, near Warsaw, and used to work at the Warsaw Central Station in a small bookstore, so I know this place very well. I'd recommend you not to stay for night there, and remember, don't fall asleep there! There are plenty of drunkards there all the time, but also lots of homeless drug addicts, which steal everything what's possible and afterwards try to sell (offers are made to sellers at small shops at the station, f.ex. I was asked if I want to buy a bicycle!). Some of them look like goddamn zombies, I wouldn't even touch such "person". So better watch out for your backpack carefully all the time. Fortunately, drug addicts are easy to get rid of them, usually it's enough to show that you're not afraid and make attempts suggesting that you're gonna to kick their asses; then they flee. Police of course know very well about their practices and do nothing, even these non-uniformed, who walk around there whole day. If you got problems with getting any info, just try to ask at the bookstores (open 24h, except for holidays) at the station. Usually students work there, so most of them speak English. "
