Airport Adventures:
KINGMAN AIRPORT

by ?

Kingman's Airport is just like home, but maybe a little too much. I was dozing off in a hard bucket seat waiting for my delayed America West flight to Phoenix and this old grandma working in the terminal diner woke me up gave me some free coffee. After awhile I got bored and decided to go get some fresh air. I stepped outside and apparently I mistakenly walked out the wrong door...the one leading to the tarmac. This was creepy; nobody seemed to really care...so I went for a little walk along the tarmac and past the fuel hangar. When I walked back to the terminal, there was a sign next to the door that said "Remember, PIN number is Kingman Unicom frequency: 1228." Apparently this was the pin number for the same door leading out to the tarmac. When my airplane finally arrived, they led us all out to this mobile home parked on the tarmac. Lo and behold was security...an x-ray machine that looked like a copier and a sheriff's deputy holding a wand...then we walked out to the plane and took off. Who needs security anyway in a state that allows concealed weapons?"
