Zurich Airport Review

(Guest Review) Everything is closed super early, super expensive... the benchs are divided two-two... so it's difficult to fit yourself there overnight. Only good choice is to go to the couches in some open air bars, but then they wake you up at 5 am...

(Guest Review) I only use this airport for connecting flights (Europe to Asia) but it does seem very expensive for modest refreshments during the long wait. But in general, the people and facilities are fine and would receive no complaints from me.

(Guest Review) NOt very confortable seats. The cleanners passed by my side with their cleanning machine making as much noise as possible (yes, in porpouse). I was in June and the air conditioning was extremly cold even colder than outside

Goodbye to Eurolot

by stawka (March, 2015)

Reason for Stay: Too cheap for a hotel room
Where: Airside
Pros: safe, warm, quiet, clean
Cons: airside, cleaning

I made 24h spotting trip to say goodbye to Eurolot, which suspending operations 31st March 2015. Arrived 20:00 and stayed airside for night (always much safer than landsie). After some time of taking photos, I looked around for a place to sleep. In gates A area seats are in '(' shape and grouped 222 with baggage shelf between, so not even tried them. Airside center looked better, one pax was already sleeping there. But the best place was in the center of gates B pier - big area of flat and soft seats, grouped 3, 31, 3131 and similar. Temperature was ok, i layed in t-shirt with sweater flipped over my back to keep kidneys warm. Lights were dimmed in the night and after turning over facing seat they were not disturbing at all. Earplugs was also not necessary, as it was completely quiet (without any announcements) from 11PM, until some cle continued >>

(Guest Review) I had a 24h layover in Zurich Airport from 6:50 am to the same time the following day (Bangkok Zurich Stockholm). Landside is horrible. Staying on landside is really not recommendable as there are no comfortable seats (except at a cafe in the airport centre and at starbucks). There are two supermarkets in the airport centre where you can get to know Swiss prices, but they are still cheaper than the sandwiches and drinks from the restaurants and cafes. I wouldn't know where I could sleep staying landside, since I though the Starbuck sofas where pretty small. Walked around for 2h to find a power outlet and couldn't find one that does not have the Swiss type (which is different to European/ British/ American types). Got my boarding pass at noon and crossed over to airside. Much better options: power outlets everywhere, good s continued >>
