Bright, chilly, but manageable
The airport gets quiet at about midnight and the caf/shop (yes, just the one) closes about an hour after. The majority of the people leave and by this time it's pretty clear who is staying for the night. I stayed both the night I landed and the night before departure because the available buses weren't going where I wanted them to the first night, and I was flying out at 7:30 the last day.
About an hour or so after nodding off, I got woken up by a man who wanted me to sleep downstairs with the common people. Not being in a playful mood I grabbed my bags and moved downstairs. I picked a spot as good as any, close to a wall. The bright lights were a bit bothersome, as were the seats that squeeked and were not padded. I preferred the floor as they were flat and clean. The relative cold - the air conditioning was going strong! - made me wake up a few times through the night. I must have got...

a painfully bright night
The airport is new and very clean, witnessed no flies (or any other insects) as mentioned in the other reviews. The squeeking seats is still a problem but at night the airport was very empty so there was plenty of space to lie down. Without a sleeping mask this airport is not good -- staring up at super bright lights while trying to sleep is just not good. It may have also been a little chilly.
We were left alone throughout the night and it was fairly quiet.

The flies are unbearable
The airport is clean. Not too many flights. Including us, there were 4 persons staying overnight. Nobody bothered us. Many free seats to sleep on. Reasonably comfortable, but make terrible screeching noises when you move.
Now the worst: flies. As it was noted in some reviews already, there are terrible flies there. They will keep sitting on you all the time. It's impossible to fall asleep when a fly lands on your face every 10 seconds. And it's not like there are hundreds of flies there. There are only a few of them, but they will keep sitting on you. No, I wasn't particularly smelly or anything. It's the Trapani's flies. Nightmare!

Clean....but too much flies
We staid in the airport during one of the first nights of August. The main lobby was very clean as well as the toilets. No one (excluding flies) bothered us and we could have a really goood night.

Nice place
We didn't stay but we did ask there if we could in case we needed it because our flight was at 6:00am, so I write it here to let people know. Staff told us that there was no problem and that the airport is open during the night.
We arrived there at 1:30 AM and didn't have to overnight stay in because we had a rent car and we slept in it but the airport was open, we went to the airport bathroom, and no problem. There was nobody sleeping in the airport. It's a very new airport and everything is so clean.
