REVIEWS London - Heathrow ..... grzesieksz February, 2010 the best of all my experience I had to sleep two nights in a row while in England. Reason- no money! It's a rip off city. So..one night at Stansted ( NIGHTMARE!!!) and at Heathrow. I liked Heathrow FAR more. There is MUCH more room to sleep than in packed so already called SleepStead. I slept in Arrivals area at Terminal One and later from 5am i made my way to terminal 3 departures but it was already busy with people arriving on early flights so I mostly stayed awake and was chilling. No one harassed me or disturbed. No pickpockets or police or even cleaners interventions:).It was clean and fresh. I slept well from midnight till 5 o clock in the morning( the time this airports gets busy.) AT night all the Heathrow terminals seems to be pretty empty and silent ( it weird cause it is the greatest international hub). Veryy good! Good value for no money people. NOT too many people staying overnight ass well! Dont sleep in...
London - Heathrow ..... .Nat. December, 1998 An eventful night At 1 am they started cleaning the whole area with the electric floor swiper - for about 2 hours. I nevertheless managed to fall asleep, having to share the long plastic bench with another bloke. at around 3.30 am the bloke was handcuffed, arrested and detained by airport security.
At 5 am some sinister guy featuring bad breath and rotten teeth woke me up, offering to share a double bedroom in a nearby hotel with me. At this point I decided not to fall asleep again for safety reasons.
When trying to board my plane the next morning they took me aside to search me for drugs as I must have looked completely devastated after one night at Heathrow Airport.
London - 5 Heathrow ..... Tone2 January, 2010 The Pits I have had the misfortune to travel via Terminal 5 only twice and been delayed by nine hours and 4 hours plus had baggage lost on both occasions. What really makes it unbearable is the lack of information or interest from any staff, they really don't give a hit about passengers.
I did eventually get my baggage returned via courier after 9 days and 12 days.
After a 33 hour flight back from the far east being delayed for hours in Terminal 5 then eventually being told after 5 hours the flight was cancelled and not delayed as displayed on the notice board was the final straw. Eventually after complaining they arranged coach travel for the 200 mile journey.
I can only advise anyone to aviod Terminal 5 at all costs and more importantly British Airways. Finally to make matters even worse I had upgraded my tickets to Business class. I can only hope BA goes bankrupt as these muppets don't de...

London - Heathrow ..... Terryle July, 2009 Greater than I ever expected! Slept with my friend in waiting room of Terminal 2 (under the boards with history of Heathrow Airport :) after midnight arrival from Prague. A great night without any problems! A carpet on the floor, benches not too comfortable but we had sleeping bags, so slept on the carpet - great. It was great that we could place our baggage under some benches and lay beside it, so nobody could steal our things. Close 24hrs opened Coffee shop, toilets, a fountain with drinking water. We missed nothing. Fast asleep since midnight to 5 AM when many people started going around. In the morning the shop behind us opened but nobody told us a word to go away. Cleaners hoovered the carpet after midnight but there were no problem with them.
Little problems: quite loud announcement cca every 15 minutes during the night, but it was possible to ingore it :) colder air down at the floor because of the airconditi...
London - Heathrow ..... tharatorn August, 2009 Good but Not Grand I have slept in Heathrow before back in 2007, and I have to say that experience wasn't too bad. I didn't get mugged. So, being too cheap for a hotel in London, I decided to sleep there while waiting for a plane.
I chose the Terminal 3 arrival area to sleep like last time, and also because I couldn't get into the check-in area. I say that it is best to arrive at the airport before 11pm. Otherwise the door might be closed.
The location good for sleeping is a seat near the meeting point and internet. You might have to find a few seats without arm rest to get a good lie in.
The night was fairly pleasant. I didn't wake up because of cold (this was in summer) nor I was wake up because of security or janitor. Overall, I had a good sleep. No bugs. Now, this may not be true if one is forced to sleep on the carpet.
london - heathrow ..... wanarua March, 2009 worst day of journey The person on the Boarding gates are very racist and have no human character in them. They mishandled without apology a friend of mine from el salvador and the end its same old story Go back to your country.we don't give a hoot.
London - 2 ..... bob kain July, 2009 Best experiences in airports I was in transit in terminal 2 and felt jet lagged after a long flight from London. I could use a good sleep. Before I knew it I had knocked over a fella's bagages and quickly help him pick up his belongings. To my shock I had torn my pants during the fall and had a cut on my shin. But I was relief when a lady quickly offered her jacket to tie around my waist and covering up the "hole" in my pants. she escorted me to a staff room and another guy offered to mend my pants while I waited for it in a nice short they offered. And I got a free plaster for the cut on my leg. When all was over I thanked the lady which I found was actually a Singapore stewardress. She replies with a pleasant smile and shoke my hand, then shown me where to get some rest. I bought a drink and proceed to wait on those comfortable chairs that vibrates to wake you up if u had the alarm set! I think the crews had done ...
London - Heathrow ..... Airpunk February, 2008 A maze with air traffic connection Heathrow and I will never become friends and I was not really happy when my Gatwick flight was transferred to Heathrow. Not only that it is an airport of long distances, endless secuirity check and taxi times on the apron and usually expensive prices. It is also horrible to sleep in. Terminal 1/2/3 only had some scattered banks or a carpet which was among the dirtiest I have ever seen. The 24h coffe shop was fine, but not a place to sleep. Terminal 4 was slightly better. There are a couple of more comfortable benches near the first class waiting area to the right hand side. Some scattered benches are available at the arrival area, close to the 24h Starbucks. After travelling between the terminals to find out which one is the better option, I chose terminal 4. It was colder than the older ones, but at least there wasn't this dirty carpet and more sleeping options. However, there are very ...
