(Contributed by Gary Taylor) - "me and the wife was returning home to Manchester England via Johannesburg...Istanbul...starting from Maputo Airport, I understand Maputo is a poor part of Africa, I dont have a problem with that, and im a guy we dont really care..do we?..anyway I needed the bathroom..but couldnt find it?? so I asked this African guy who worked there.."excuse me..but wheres the toilet?"..he looked at me like I was an Alien..."the john?"..I said...still no answer...the "restroom"..."I need a pee"...still nothing from this guy!..so I improvised, I got my index finger and placed it between my legs and waggled it about!...now I guessed this guy is either gonna get me arrested for trying to pick him up! or hes gonna realise I need a pee? I looked at the guy and his features changed dramaticly into a huge grin!..was HE a faggot I continued >>

(Contributed by gary taylor) - "I Found the staff to be friendly, I was a 1st class person..for the first time in my life, the airport was quiet, which i liked, you had to walk to the plane, which i didnt mind, the toilets were a mess im afraid, but as this is a poor country i didnt expect plush bathrooms, and im a guy so i can slum it no problem..the area to me was absolutely beautifull, and the people were very nice too. the city of maputo was slum in certain places, but also beautifull in other places. i would certainly love to return there one day. the main beer for you guy visitors out there is called..mac-mahone, and a pleasant tasting light beer it is too...the beaches are gorgeous, with plenty of beachside beer huts! overall i would recomend a holiday there anytime.any questions about this amazing place then feel free to email me continued >>

(Contributed by ?) - "we pass by the maputo airport every year (family lives there). It is simple but clean. From an african country you cannot expect better.The personnell is friendly though sleeping in the building might not be allowed - no experience with that...The guys with their guns dissapeared by now - the total situation of the country has changed drastically over the last 8 years!" (Contributed by ?) - "As you would expect, this airport has no place to sleep at all. It is a small, old un-airconditioned building with many guards with large guns who keep the area free of loiterers. Crime is also reputedly to be high, so sleeping in this particular airport is certainly not recommended."
