Reason for Stay: Too cheap for a hotel room
Where: Landside
Pros: plugs, seats with armrests, vending machines, toilets
Cons: no sleeping spaces, poor wifi if working, automatic doors.

We did great ocen road. Arrived 10am to drop off hire car. Flight was late at night. Need to reat from journey No couches, had to sleep on floor. No showers, we had gone a couple days roo many. Only vending machines on landside. Airside shut early. We were asked if we wanted to grab food but had one meal. Poor/if working wifi. Plugs for charging. I you were to stay for an hour it's fine you'd have plastic seats with arms and vending machine and be able to get a o airside if there in opened hours. Only advantage was due to waiting patiently and slweping on floor. When bording came around we were offered extra leg room. Airside was basic quiet few shops.

Why Avalon and not one of the two bigger airports, you ask? I've been asking myself the same question for almost two years. Thinking this bus ride to Avalon would be fairly brief, I was grossly mistaken. It would appear that Avalon was in fact over 45 minutes bus ride away from Melbourne(and as far as I was aware not near any civilisation whatsoever) Sitiing by the check in on one of the benches, getting somewhat comfortable, I was told by a member of staff that Avalon Airport would indeed be closing and I would not be able to sleep inside. After asking again and practically begging, I was still at this point without a place to sleep. Though the staff at Avalon were tota continued >>

Reason for Stay: Early flight departure

jetstar-late night arrival and then early morning departure to perth. no choice but assumed Avalon would stay open with such scheduling but out on my ass. I found a roadhouse(closer to Geelong than Melbourne) on the highway who had seem it all before.
