- CASABLANCA Mohamed V, Morocco

(Contributed by ?) - "Casablanca (mohamed V) is a very uncomfortable place to sleep, lots of cold dusty marble, plastic chairs, and a filthy germy bathroom with no paper towels at all!!! It was the filthiest public restroom I've ever been in, and there is always a female "attendant" on duty that you're kind of obligated to give your spare change to outside the head. Also, it is a very "unprivate" bathroom. Most people are completely unaware that there is a (kind of) affordable cafe upstairs (the stairs are kind of out of the way) and a lovelier restaurant adjacent to it, also upstairs. There is a "hammam" (shower) in the airport - but it's reserved for airline employees only!!! I sure would not want to ever have to sleep in that place again, although I felt completely safe, it was totally uncomfortable and felt really dirty after that. There is an airport cat there though, that might appreciate some spare snacks. The guards on duty there are pretty cool, albeit they can't speak English. A pack of Marlboros is a friendly gift, but they won't let you photograph them (and no bribes would work either!) the place to sleep is upstairs, after the cafes close (there is another that was open 24/7 downstairs that had o.k sandwiches and bottled water) and if there is a next time that I have to sleep in Moroccan Airport it will be in Rabat."
