I actually never thought I would fly with Aeroflot but I had an urgent business meeting and every other airline was booked out so I had no choice. Although the flight was quite alright (food on the plane sucked, but come on, that is true in 9 out of 10 cases, isn't it?), my stay at the airport in Moscow was like stepping through the doors of hell. Prices for food and drink are crazy, but as a Swiss citizien, I am rather used to that fact. What really bothered me was the way you get treated by the staff at this airport! As I was travelling single, I decided to go to the Irish bar. Good thing you can even smoke there, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it to non-smokers... You get your beer, you pay your bill but the waiter/waitress never even dreams of saying thanks. Whenever you order something, the waiter/waitress gives you the feeling that you have just interrupted their life. So I moved to the bar upstairs, but actually that didn't make any difference. No thanks, no smile... the only way I got one security guard to smile was when I smoked a cigarette in an area where you were not supposed to smoke. Seating is also a huge problem at this airport for sure! And most of the flights that left during my stay were delayed at least 30 minutes (mine was delayed for 45 minutes, guess I was still lucky if I read other comments on this site). Conclusion: I will try avoiding this airport in the future as much as possible! Sleeping at this airport seems to be no problem though: I saw lots of people having a nap in the alleyway outside the bar upstairs and the security guards did not care at all. Just be sure to bring a mat or sleeping bag, because the floor didn't look too comfy to me..." |
