To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Amman Queen Alia International Airport.

What to Expect

Amman Airport (code: AMM) services its passengers with a modern four-level passenger terminal with shops, a spa, and many 24-hour dining options. Free WiFi is available, and you’ll find plenty of charging areas with a variety of outlets and USB ports. The facilities are described as exceptionally clean, and airport staff as efficient, though immigration can be slow during peak times. Economy class passengers may access one of the airport’s private lounges. See Airport Lounges in the guide below.

Sleeping in Amman Airport

Travellers’ reviews regarding sleep options are mixed, which suggests that finding decent sleeping spots might be a case of “seek and you will find.” While some travellers reported finding comfortable armrest-free seating in quiet areas, others reported a lack of comfortable seating or quiet nooks suitable for snoozing. Overall, Airside offers better seating options and, depending on the time, more quiet areas. Explore our guide to sleeping in Amman Airport or read some traveller reviews for more tips.  For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. See Airport Hotels in the guide below.

To help us keep this guide up-to-date, you can add or update information or write a review to submit airport tips and photos. You can also visit the airport’s website for current information. For more airport information, continue scrolling down to explore more in our Amman Airport Guide.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.  For more information on Europe’s Schengen Area, click here.
