"The airport had plenty of comfortable benches to sleep on and the people were very friendly. There's a Tim Horton's just a skip and a walk down the road. At that time though, the airport used to close at 2am and reopen at 4am, leaving myself and my friend sleeping outside on a cold wooden bench. the restaurant is horribly expensive and the food is mediocre. Stick to the Tim's down the road. 2 years ago there was no late flights coming in or leaving out of YHM, now with WestJet basing it's Eastern hub there, I'm sure that the airport is open til later. Closest motel is a Motel 6 about 15minutes walk towards Mnt. Hope. Mnt. Hope is basically a very small town surrounded by farmland and an airport stuck in the middle of it."

I had arrived at 1am and did not depart until 9am. The seats were comfortable enough, but the Hamilton Airport is so small that a stewardess comes and wakes each sleeping person prior to every departing flight to make sure that no one is missing their connection. If I had a piece of paper and a pen, I would have written my flight info and a DO NOT DISTURB sign, but I was out of luck. In addition to arriving at 1am, nothing was open until 6am, and CASH ONLY! I was famished by the time my connecting flight departed. Oh, and they boarded us by the colour of our socks. No lies!
