Rarotonga Airport

"I was going on a family trip from Calgary to the Cook Islands. We got into Rarotonga at about 3AM, as the big Air New Zealand planes can only take off in the wee hours of the morning successfully, (good thing!) So, we got off the plane, and are immediately hit by the hotness and humidity, I mean, come on, when we left Calgary there was a blizzard, -30C, etc. We got into the luggage pick up area, and there was this cook islander strumming away on his little ukelale (sp?) He was very friendly, and smiled and nodded at everyone who came in while he was singing. There were plants everywhere, it was like you were in a jungle! A very nice welcome!!"

I slept on the airport due to delay of 1 am flight! Well some not expensive bungalows are just 1 km away (Tiara village)
Check in counter is outside, there is just a roof over the place - gets cold in case of storm, hard sits, if you have a hammock you can fix it on the pillars.
