"Albuquerque is a medium-size airport with one terminal serving all airlines. Secure areas close at night, but baggage claim and ticketing areas remain open. All seating is padded. Most seats have wooden arm rests, but there is a variety of seating without them. There is a 'meditation room' near baggage claim - a sort of non-denominational chapel. Other options include full length padded benches by the baggage carousels and half-length padded seats in the 'Greeting Area'. I wouldn't feel comfortable in the chapel, and the other areas seem a bit exposed. I arrived on a late night flight with the intention of sleeping in the terminal, but because the weather was warm and I had a sleeping bag, I chose to leave the terminal and walk a quarter mile to a protected landscaped area where I knew I wouldn't be detected or disturbed. (It was a little wooded hill that would be exposed during the day but was quite invisible at night. 35.052407N, 106.614889W. I slept at the top of a small rise, trees above me and pine needles for padding underneath, and I set my alarm to be sure to wake before dawn. Quite comfortable!) Had it been colder I would have slept in the terminal, probably near the baggage carousels. Judging from previous reviews, I would have evidence handy to show security I had either just flown in or was about to fly out. THE AIRPORT: Free wifi. Usual overpriced food options. Cheap and frequent city bus connects to downtown and the commuter rail to Santa Fe."
