"In February 1998 I had an early morning flight to Roswell, NM that was delayed several hours due to thick fog (extremely rare in this part of New Mexico!) and the flight was delayed almost eight hours. I was dead tired, but could not sleep; the airport had not been renovated since 1958 (it still had asbestos in the ceiling tiles!) and the molded plastic chairs did not conform to any known human shape. The chair backs were too low to lean back in, and leaning forward was nearly impossible. The only "dining facilities" to alleviate hunger was a single vending machine. To ease boredom, I looked at the "Wings of Clovis" display with a model of every aircraft, civilian and military, that flew over Clovis and Cannon AFB. It was interesting, by only took 15 minutes. The rest of the time I was bored, tired, and hungry and constantly looking out the window to see if the fog would ever clear enough for the plane to land. It finally did, about 7 hours late! This airport definitely is not one you want to spend a long time in! "
