To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Oklahoma City Airport.

What to Expect

Oklahoma City Airport (code: OKC) is housed in a single three-level terminal. Departure gates are located in the Central Concourse and the West Concourse, parts of which have been recently renovated. A new East Concourse is currently under construction. Travellers can expect several restaurants and cafes, plus some gift shops and convenience stores. Free and unlimited WiFi helps pass the time. No pay-to-use airport lounges are available.

Sleeping in Oklahoma City Airport

oklahoma airport guideOnce security checkpoints close for the night, overnight sleepers are restricted to the landside area. If you’re airside (in the secure area), you will be escorted to the landside area until security reopens in the morning. The main lobby and the arrivals are reportedly have decent sleep spots. For uninterrupted sleep, there is a hotel on airport grounds and several nearby hotels offer shuttle service. In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Military Lounge

YMCA Military Welcome Center – The center provides refreshments, internet access, long-distance phone service, stamps and stationary, games and hi-definition satellite TV on a big screen. Location: Bay O of the cargo annex, 130 yards from Baggage Claim 1.  Hours: Due to COVID-19, current operations are based on the on-call needs of the U.S. Army.  Lounge Access: open to members of the military.

Unlimited free WiFi is available at Oklahoma City Airport. To connect, select “Boingo Hotspot” in your network settings and then click “Watch an Ad” to access free WiFi or for faster ad-free service, premium WiFi can be purchased through Boingo.

Airport Mailers – Self-mailing service for items that do not pass security. The service is available at the entrance of each security checkpoint.

Art in the Airport – Art exhibitions are available throughout the airport.

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Landside, near the west security checkpoint and the American Airlines ticket counter • Airside, between Gates 12 and 14.

Baby Care Facilities – A nursery is available with a recliner and a sofa. Location: Airside, between the men’s and women’s washrooms, across from the Cross Grain Brewhouse restaurant.

Business Services – Faxing, copying and notary services available at the airport’s administration office. Hours: 8:00AM – 5:00PM (Mon-Fri).

Duty Free & Shopping – There is no duty free at the Oklahoma airport. Most shops are located throughout the concourses, airside. There is a CNBC Express in the main lobby, landside.

Food & Drinks – Most food concessions throughout the airport operate with varying schedules. At the time of this update, there are no 24-hour dining options. The airport offers 8 restaurants/cafes in total. Vending machines are available landside.

Information Desk – Need help finding your way? There are two information desks to provide assistance. Location: Main Entrance both Lower and Upper Level.

Luggage Carts – SmarteCarte carts are available. Fee: $5.00 payable in exact change or with a credit card (Visa or Mastercard).

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.

Massage Chairs – Massage Chairs can be found throughout the terminal concourse. Fees: unknown.

Mobile Charging – ChargeCarte Phone Chargers are located in the center concourse, near Gate 18, and in the connector walkway between Gates 14 and 16. Fee: unknown.

Post Office – Drop off your last minute postcards to friends and family from airport’s mailbox. Location: next to baggage claim number 4.

Rest Zones – There are no dedicated sleeping areas, quiet areas or rest zones. If this information has changed, click here to update this guide.

Shoeshine – Harold’s Shoe Shine is located airside, across from Gate 14. Hours: 5:00AM – 5:00PM (Mon-Fri).

Showers – Not available.

Traveler’s Aid – This is a non-profit organization that assists stranded and distressed passengers. Volunteers assist passengers with general airport and destination queries to assist with situations such as transportation assistance, lost or stolen money, wiring money, emergency housing, etc. Locations: Ticketing Level • Across from American Airlines Baggage Claim. Hours: 10:00AM – 10:00PM.

The airport is open 24 hours. The two TSA security checkpoints open at 4:00AM and 4:30AM and close 30 minutes after the last flight. The secure area (airside) is cleared out, so no overnight stays are possible.

Bus and Shuttles

The airport is not connected to the public transportation system; however, a number of shuttle transfer services are available. Whether you are looking for an Airport Express route, you are travelling to Fort Worth Texas, or you need to get to the Greyhound Bus station, there is probably a route available for you. Ride Sharing

Ride Share Apps Uber and Lyft have a designated pick-up point.  Location: Upper Level, west end of Departure area, look for the “TNC Pick up” sign.

Taxis

Taxis are available in the transportation plaza on the lower level, just outside of the baggage claim area. All taxis are metered, and reservations are not required. Rates are posted on the outside of the taxis.
