Southwest Terminal - "This is the Ontario Airport in Ontario CALIFORNIA. The first time I flew through Ontario was shortly after Sept. 11th, and I have been through about 20 times since. It is a very simple and clean airport, and since the security checkpoint is immediately after the ticket counter, there are quite a few nice little stores to look at near the gates. Almost all of the gates are very quiet (except for the "ATTENTION: DUE TO HEIGHTENED SECURITY MEASURES, ALL PASSENGERS MUST CHECK IN AT THE TICKET COUNTER, OR GATE SERVICE COUNTER")...the seats have armrests, but the airline employees are generally very nice, and the security will ignore you totally. In general, it's a good airport: Clean, quietish, not confusing. I would highly recommend flying into Ontario and renting a car instead of bothering with LAX if you have to visit the southern california area. "

"Was redirected to Ontario from a late flight leaving from Atlanta going into San Diego because of a thick fog that rolled and planes couldn't land there. Upon arriving, they made everyone stay on the plane for an hour before bringing buses to shuttle everyone to the terminal since it was over a mile away. Get to the terminal shortly after 11pm and all the stores were closed, amongst all the confusion, everyone was directed to report to the check-in counters for statuses about leaving the next morning. After receiving my information, I got comfortable in a set of chairs with arm rests and set my laptop up. Got bored with the laptop after 2 hours and tried to get some sleep. This at first was nearly impossible because of all the commotion of disgruntled passengers, but by four in the morning, I was able to fall asleep with my bags snug between my legs, laptop in my lap. The only background noise you really had to worry about were the constant security announcements, but other than that it was straight! My morning flight didn't leave until after 9 in the morning for the plane had to be carted over to the gate and refueled. Luckily, there was an Applebee's there that opens at 7 in the morning and I was able to have steak and eggs for breakfast which really made my day."
