"Potentially dangerous place at night due to homeless and drug-addicted individuals roaming around" (Bob Meanza)

"I was participating in a college internship in the summer of 1988 at a hospital in Stockton, CA, and was living at that time near San Francisco. My car was not working at the time. I caught a Greyhound bus in the early evening from San Francisco enroute to Stockton. I had to make a transfer at Sacramento. Due to traffic conditions, I barely missed my connection to Stockton, and another one wasn't available until 4:00 a.m. (I arrived in Sacramento about 10 pm). I did not know the area at all, and was a poor college student, so decided to simply wait at the Greyhound terminal. Was very tired, and started seeking a place to sleep. Potentially dangerous place at night due to homeless and drug-addicted individuals roaming around, so I found myself a cozy little corner of the men's room utility closet to sleep in for a few hours. Even if the door had been opened by someone other than an employee, it would have been hard to find me, so felt actually quite safe. I finally caught my 4:00 a.m. bus 6 hours later. Once arriving in Stockton, it was still very early (my department not open for another three hours), but caught a free taxi ride from a fellow rider who took pity on me on over to the hospital. Although I would never willingly repeat this adventure, it WAS quite a cool, and interesting experience."
