I found myself in Tulsa about 1AM after weather delays (I was supposed to arrive at 7 PM). I was supposedly meeting a client that had my hotel reservations for the night and we had an early morning meeting. Unfortunately, she was flying in also and was stranded in Atlanta, killing any hopes for a morning meeting. The first flight back out was about 7 AM so I decided to sleep in the airport. There are many comfortable, oversized chairs in the lobby near the rental car counters. I ended up sleeping in the baggage claim area where there are a handful of chair-benches with no armrests.

A police officer saw me bunking down and asked if I needed anything and offered me a wake up if I wanted. I told him I was going to go out on the 7 AM flight. He made a note of it to make sure I did not sleep through my flight. The airport was quiet, though there were some normal noises of the night crews. Luckily, they made only a little noise in the baggage area. At about 6, a different police officer woke me up (about 5 minutes before my alarm went off). He said that his coworker had left specific instructions to let me sleep until 6 and to give me a wake up nudge about then. I freshened up in an immaculate bathroom and headed for my flight refreshed.

Very nice airport for overnighting."
