Port Louis Airport Information

In this guide we may refer to locations as "landside" and "airside". Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

Airport Lounges

Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships

Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there are lounges that you can enter by paying at the door, purchasing a lounge pass or through a lounge membership program (ie. Priority Pass). Visit the individual lounge page for more details about the lounge itself and to also find out how you can gain lounge access with just an economy class ticket!

Airport Hotels

If sleeping in Port Louis Airport does not appeal to you, there are no hotels at the airport to seek refuge. The nearest hotels are:

  • Holiday Inn Mauritius Airport - Located just 700m from the front of the airport. Free roundtrip airport shuttle is available upon request. Day rates are available. » Check Rates
  • Shandrani Resort & Spa - (5 minutes from the airport) No airport shuttle. Day passes available for those who just want to hang out at the resort for the day. » Check Rates
  • Chantauvent Mauritius Guesthouse - (10 minutes from the airport) Airport transfers are available. for Rs 500 per car (max of 4 passengers), or Rs 650 if after 11:00PM. If arriving late, airport pick-up must be arranged ahead of time, since hotel reception will be closed. » Check Rates
  • 3Ds International Tourist Home - (10 minutes from the airport) Airport tranfer service is available upon request, 12,50€ each way. » Check Rates

Airport WiFi / Internet

Free WiFi is available at Port Louis Airport for 30 minutes. Connect to the “30 Mins Free Passenger WiFi” network. Access is one-time use only. You can also get 3 hours of free WiFi if you download the “Mauritius Airport” app from Google Play or the App Store. The app will generate a code, which you can use to access WiFi from the mobile device of your choice.

If you do not have a mobile device, there are free Internet workstations at the airport. Locations and additional details are unknown.

  • ATMs / Cash Machines - Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Landside, outside of the Tour Operators area • Airside, near Gates 4 and 7.
  • Baby Care Facilities - Baby change facilities are available in washrooms both Landside and Airside.
  • Chapel/Prayer Room - Airside Level 1, Hall A near Shops.
  • Currency Exchange - Currency Exchange services are available from at least 10 kiosks throughout the airport.
  • Duty Free & Shopping - Duty-free shopping is available in both the Departures / Boarding area and the International Arrivals area (Baggage Claim Hall). Clothing, Mauritian goods, and more can be purchased at retail shops located throughout the airport.
  • Food & Drinks - Food concessions throughout the airport operate with varying schedules. At the time of this update, we are unable to confirm the availability of any 24-hour dining options.
  • Information Desk - Location: Level 0, near the Tour Operator booths.
  • Luggage Storage & Lockers - Not available.
  • Luggage Wrapping - Protect your luggage and its contents with luggage wrapping. Location: Ground2Air (International Check-In Hall A, near Gate 13) • World Safe Wrap (International Check-In Hall A, near Gate 12 • International Check-In Hall B, near Gate 16).
  • Medical Services - Urgent and emergency medical care is available at First Aid stations in these two locations: Level 0 at Gate 9 (landside) • Departures Hall, airside, Level 1.
  • Mobile Charging - Power sockets are available the seating areas located in the departures zones, Airside.
  • Piano - The airport now features a piano for passengers to play and enjoy. Location: International Departures, Airside, opposite Gate 26.
  • Post Office - Location: Arrivals (Level 0), near Gate 3, at the right side of the terminal. Hours: 8:15AM - 4:00PM (Mon-Fri) 8:15AM - 11:45AM (Sat). Closed on Sunday. Stamps are also sold at the bookstore opposite Gate 28.
  • Prayer Room - Location: Departure Hall, airside, behind the Hugo Boss shop.
  • Rest Zones - Not available.
  • Shopping & Duty Free - Yes
  • Showers - Freshen up in between flights with a shower. Available inside the lounges. [ see Airport Lounges above ]
  • Spa - Express Spa - Location: International Departures, Airside, opposite Gate 28.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Car Rentals

ABC Car Rental • Avis • Dollar/Thrifty • Europcar • First Car rental • Hertz • Sixt. The car rental counters are located outside the Tour Operators Hall.

Public Transportation

There are three public buses that serve the airport. Bus 9, 10 and 198 connect the airport with a variety of destinations including, Mahebourg Bus Station, Curepipe Jan Palach South Bus Station and more. Buses depart every 10 - 20 minutes and journes last from 70 to 120 minutes.

Taxis

Taxis can be arranged at a special counter in the Tour Operators Hall. For a list of estimated fares, visit the Port Louis Airport website.
