  • A small international airport with two separate terminals for domestic (Terminal 1) and international flights (Terminal 2).
  • There have been reports of theft of personal belongings while in this airport, so keep an eye on your belongings at all times!

Where to Sleep

  • Overnight stays are not permitted in this airport. The airport closes at night. One reviewer says there are comfortable benches outside of Terminal 1.

Surabaya Juanda Airport Information

In this guide we may refer to locations as "landside" and "airside". Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

Airport Lounges

If you are an economy class traveller, you can enter the following lounge at Surabaya airport by purchasing a lounge pass or through a lounge membership program (ie. Priority Pass). Visit the individual lounge page for more details about the lounge itself and to also find out how you can gain lounge access with just an economy class ticket!

Other Lounges

There are a few other lounges at Surabaya Airport, but we don't have any information about the access info:

  • Garuda Executive Lounge - Location: Domestic departures, airside, T2.
  • Trowulan Lounge - Location: Departures, T1 A, LG.I2-1.
  • Singosari Lounge - Location: Departures, T1 B.

Airport Hotels

If sleeping in Surabaya Juanda Airport does not appeal to you, there are hotels near the airport:

  • Ibis Budget Surabaya Airport - Located in Terminal 1 (domestic). Free shuttle service to Terminal 2 (international).
  • Halogen Hotel - (5 minutes from the airport) Located near Terminal 2 (international). 15 minute ride from Terminal 1 (domestic). Free airport shuttle to both terminals.
  • Hotel Sinar - (5 minutes from the airport) There are actually three hotels in the Hotel Sinar Group (Sinar I, II, and III), and they are all located near each other. Free roundtrip airport shuttle (must pre-book) and day rooms offered in 3 to 6-hour blocks.

More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover At The Airport

  • ATMs / Cash Machines - Available in both Terminals, ground floors, Landside only.
  • Children’s Play Area - T2 offers a children’s play area on the 2nd Floor. In Terminal 1 you will find a play area across from Gate 5.
  • Currency Exchange - PMV and Indocev offer currency exchange services in the arrivals area of the domestic terminal T2. Hours: 6:00AM - 11:00PM.
  • Duty Free & Shopping - Duty Free is available as well as a few other shops including a Circle K and an Alfamart which may come in handy for last minute snacks and drinks. Both are open during airport operating hours.
  • Food & Drinks - There are restaurants and coffee shops available. A few operate during airport operating hours but there are no 24 hour options. The Diplomat Cafe is open 1:00AM - 11:00PM and offers a smoking room and WiFi connection.
  • Information Desk - Information is available in the main areas of both terminals.
  • Luggage Storage & Lockers - Not available.
  • Luggage Wrapping - Yes, available. Located in the landside area of the international terminal T2. Hours: 4:00AM - 9:00PM.
  • Medical Services - First Aid stations are located in both Terminals. In T2 the room is on the 2nd Floor beside the children’s play area. In T1 the room is located on the 1st floor, center of the hall.
  • Mobile Charging - Free charging points are available in T2 on the 2nd Floor near the children’s play area.
  • Rest Zones - Not available.
  • Showers - Not available.
  • Smoking - Smoking is permitted inside the Diplomat Cafe. In addition, in T1 there is a designated smoking room Landside and Airside.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Airport Bus

DAMRI operates three bus services between the airport and Purabaya Station, Tanjung Perak Station and Bunder Gresik Station. Airport bus stops are available in front of both terminals. At the time of this January 2018 update, the price per ticket ranges from Rp 25,000. to Rp 40,000.

Car Rentals

Car rentals are available onsite. At the time of this update, no further information is available.


Prepaid taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area of the airport. Stop at the Prima Taxi booth in the Arrivals hall to pay for your ride. You will receive a ticket to give to your taxi driver before boarding the taxi.
