CCS Airport Overview
To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Caracas Simon Bolivar International Airport.
What to Expect
Caracas Airport (code: CCS) consists of two terminals (International and Domestic) that are connected by a short walkway. The Domestic Terminal contains over 30 eateries and the International offers over 40, though almost all close by 10:00PM at the latest, so plan accordingly if you are staying overnight. WiFi is available, but outlets for charging mobile devices are reportedly hard to find. Additional comfort can be found through fee-based access to one of the airport’s first class lounges. Sleeping in Caracas Airport
We have not received any sleep-related airport reviews since 2013. At the time, decent seating was spotted in the landslide departures area in the International terminal; however, sleeping in the public area is not recommended for safety reasons. Have a backup plan if you’re planning to spend the night. For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. Good to Know
Even before the country’s recent economic troubles, this airport had a reputation for crime, corruption, unsanitary conditions, horrible service, and for just being dangerous.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Free WiFi is available at Caracas Airport. Connect to the “WIFIAEROPUERTO” network and enter the same name “WIFIAEROPUERTO”. For more information go to the Passenger Service Modules, located in the International Terminal, transit area, gate 22.
Jet Coffee House offers internet in the International Terminal (airside, near Gate 14) Hours: 5:00AM – 10:00PM. Aeroconet Internet Cafe is also located in the International Terminal (landside, Level 3 Arrivals) Hours: 5:00AM – 10:00PM. ADV Internet provides internet in the Domestic Terminal (airside, near Gate 10) Hours: 6:00AM – 9:00PM.

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Landside, Level 3, in both terminals. Airside ATMs can be found in the Domestic Terminal, Level 2, near Gate 10 • International Terminal, near Gate 22 (opposite Digitel).
Baby Care Facilities – If you are travelling with an infant, there are family bathrooms equipped with diaper-changing facilities.
Banking Services – Several banks are located in the Domestic Terminal (landside, Levels 2 and 3, east and west sides) and International Terminal (landside, Level 3, east and west sides). Hours: 8:00AM – 3:30PM.
Chapel – Location: Landside, Level 3, West Wing. Hours: open 24 hours
Currency Exchange – Italcambio has six locations: Domestic, landside, Level 1 east, opposite the Aserca Airlines counters • International, landside, Arrivals Hall • International, landside, Level 2, central corridors east and west • International, airside, opposite Gate 24 • International, Customs near Duty Free. Hours: 5:00AM – 10:00PM.
Duty Free & Shopping – Duty-free shopping is available in the International Terminal, airside, near Gate 16. Hours: 5:00AM – 11:00PM. A wide variety of book stores, souvenir shops, a mini-market and other shops are available in landside and airside areas of both terminals.
Information Desk – If you have any questions, there are airport information desks available to provide assistance. Three locations: International Terminal, landside, Arrivals Hall • International Terminal, airside, near Gate 22 • Domestic Terminal, landside, Arrivals Hall.
Massages – Prana Massage Location: International Terminal, airside, Gate 25 Hours: 5:00AM – 10:00PM.
Medical Services – Urgent and emergency medical care is available at two airport medical units. Locations: International Terminal, airside, Gate 22, next to the Passenger Information and Assistance kiosk • Domestic Terminal, airside, Gate 3. Hours: Open 24 hours.
Pharmacy – Farmacia Saas Location: International Terminal, airside, Gate 22 (Hours: 5:00AM – 10:00PM) • Domestic Terminal, airside, Gate 2 (Hours: 6:00AM – 9:00PM)

Spa & Salon Services – Privilegs Beauty Salon – Location: Public area (west side). Hours: 6:00AM – 9:00PM.
Travel Agencies – If you are arriving in Caracas and need local arrangements or help planning a really last minute trip abroad, there are a number of travel agencies with offices at the airport that can probably be of assistance. Venatur and Inatur each have offices in both Terminals.
Car Rentals
The following car rental companies have desks at the airport: Aco • Amigo Car Rental • Avis • Budget • Europcar • Flinch Rental Car • Friend Car Rental • Hertz • Margarita Rental Car • Unirent.
City Bus
Safety may be an issue with this one, so you want to do some more research before committing. If your load is light (or non-existant), you can travel at a fraction of the price of a taxi by taking one of the local red SITSSA buses. Purchase a rechargeable card ticket from the kiosk inside the airport terminal before boarding the bus.
Hotel Shuttles
At the time of this update we were unable to find any hotels offering an airport shuttle. See also Airport Hotels above.
Taxis
Taxis are readily available for hire in the departures and arrivals are of both terminals. Evening rates apply between 6:00PM – 6:00AM. For safety reasons, do not accept rides from taxis that already have passengers and taxis which are not registered as airport service providers.
