NAS Airport Overview

nassau airport guideTo help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Nassau Lynden Pindling International Airport.

What to Expect

Nassau Airport (code: NAS) consists of three interconnected, modern terminals with about two dozen gates and a decent selection of eateries and shops, primarily located on the airside. Airport staff are described as friendly and helpful, but the airport operates on “island time,” so expect slow check-in and security processing. The islanders also like their air conditioning, so ensure you have a sweater or other warm clothes handy. WiFi is available to help pass the time. Additional comfort can be found through fee-based access to one of the airport’s first-class lounges. See Airport Lounges in the guide below.

Sleeping in Nassau Airport

A traveller (June 2018) mentioned that, although airport security locks down the airport between 12:30 AM and 3:30 AM, they allowed this traveller to remain in the arrivals area during the lockdown. The traveller said the security guards were very helpful but noted that loud music played on the public address system during the night. For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. See our Airport Hotels section below for locations, or read traveller airport reviews for more tips.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security.
