Airport Overview

To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, we are here to give you the low-down on what travellers have reported back to us during their time at Porto Alegre Airport.

What to Expect

  • A clean and modern international airport with two terminals (Terminals 1 and 2) and a good variety of dining options and amenities.
  • Many travelers who overnight here do so to take advantage of super cheap flights that depart very early in the morning or arrive in the middle of the night.
  • Free WiFi is available. See WiFi in the Airport Guide below.

Where to Sleep

  • Reviews are mixed about where to sleep. One reviewer slept comfortably with a sleeping bag under an escalator, while another was told by airport security that sleeping on the floor is prohibited. As long as you are sleeping discreetly, you may be ok.
  • The airport can be very noisy, with construction, cleaning and overhead announcements going on at all hours of the night. Have earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones handy!
  • For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. See Airport Hotels in the airport guide below.
