What to Expect

Both are currently operating while the airport decides how to divide the current airlines occupying the airports.  Amenities and things to do are limited, but you will find WiFi and a few airport lounges. In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover

Airport Museum – If you have time, check out the Aviation Museum of Nizhny Novgorod, just a 4-minute walk from the airport. Hours: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Mon-Fri).

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Machines are operated by Sberbank, Gazprombank and VTB. Fees may apply, so check your bank’s fee schedule and daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Landside, 1st floor, Arrivals Hall.

Baggage Storage – Location: Departures Hall, Landside, 1st floor

Baggage Wrapping – Protect your bags from theft and damage by having them wrapped in plastic. Location: Departures Hall, Landside, 1st floor. Rate: ₽ 600 / bag.

Children’s Play Areas – When you want to ensure your kids burn off all their energy before their flight, take them to the children’s play area. Location: Airside, 2nd Floor.

Cloak Room – If you are travelling to a destination that does not require warm outerwear, you can store items in the cloakroom. Location: Departures Hall, Landside, 1st floor. Hours: open 24/7. Rate: ₽ 50 / day.

Currency Exchange – Available.

Duty-Free & Shopping – Duty-free shopping is available airside in the International Departures area, on the 2nd floor. There is also a small variety of shops selling local delicacies and souvenirs.

Food & Drinks – At the time of this update, it is unknown if there are 24-hour dining options, so prepare accordingly. The following dining options are available at the airport: Costa Coffee (Landside, 1st Floor) • Il Patio (Landside, 1st Floor) • Holy Moly (Airside, International Departures, 2nd Floor) • American Bar & Grill (Airside, Domestic Departures, 2nd Floor) • Coffee Cake (Airside, Domestic Departures, 2nd Floor).

Information Kiosk / Lost & Found – If you have any questions or misplaced an item, visit the information booth for assistance. Location: Departures Hall, Landside, 1st floor.

Left Luggage & Lockers – Baggage storage is available. Location: Landside, Check-in Area, 1st Floor. Rates are unknown.

Medical Services –  A medical station can be found in the Arrivals Hall, Landside, 1st floor.

Nursery Room – Features a kitchen, bedroom (disposable bedclothes included), game room, bathroom with dryer rack, and TV lounge. Free to use for children under seven years old (or disabled children under 14 years old) and one accompanying parent. You must show a passport or other photo ID and a flight ticket. Overnight accommodation is possible. Guests are granted entrance upon passing a medical inspection at the entrance. Passengers who need medical attention are prohibited from entering and are referred to the medical unit. Hours: Open 24/7. Location: Domestic Departures, Airside, 2nd floor.

Pharmacy – Pick up any last-minute medication from the airport pharmacy. Location: Arrivals Hall, Landside, 1st floor.

Post Office – Drop off your last-minute postcards to friends and family from the airport’s mailbox. Location: Domestic Departures, Airside, 2nd floor.

Tour Operator – Location: Arrivals Hall, Landside, 1st floor.

WiFi / Internet – Free WiFi is available at Strigino Nizhny Novgorod Airport. Connect to the “Free_GOJ” network. Note that you must be able to receive the login password via SMS.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

Strigino Airport is connected to surrounding areas by bus routes #11 (Druzhaeva St.), #46 (Kuznechiha) and #56 (Krasnoe Sormovo). As of this update, the fare is ₽ 28.

Taxis are available at the airport. You can either pre-book a taxi with Yandex Taxi or visit the taxi booth in the Arrivals Hall for assistance with arranging your cab ride into the city center.
