What to Expect

  • A bright, modern and busy international airport with one existing passenger terminal, and another currently under construction. A small variety of shops and restaurants are available.
  • WiFi is available. See WiFi in the airport guide below.

Where to Sleep

  • The 1st floor has a section with comfortable deck chairs, but you should have a sleep mask handy to block out the bright airport lights.
  • On the 2nd floor mezzanine, there is a quiet area under some stairs where one can catch some Zzz’s.
  • For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. See Airport Hotels in the airport guide below.

Good to Know

  • Economy class passengers can pay to enter one of the airport’s first class lounges. See Airport Lounges in the airport guide below for locations and rates.

Zagreb Airport Information

In this guide we may refer to locations as "landside" and "airside". Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

Airport Lounges

If you are an economy class traveller, you can enter these lounges at Zagreb airport either by purchasing a lounge pass or through a membership program. Visit the individual lounge page for more details (ie. facilities, hours, pass and membership information):

  • Primeclass Lounge - Location: International Terminal Airside, opposite Gate 23. Hours: 5:00AM - 10:00PM (Daily). Lounge Access: Pay at the Door • Buy a lounge pass (£18.00 - 24 hour advance purchase is required)
  • Diner's Club International Airport Lounge - Location: Airside, in the east wing of the Passenger Terminal Building on the first floor above the "Art Café". Lounge Access: Diner's Club credit card.

Airport Hotels

If sleeping in Zagreb Airport does not appeal to you, there are hotels near the airport:

  • Guest House Ivac Inn - A free airport shuttle is available. Once you have collected your luggage call the hotel (00385915693567) and someone from the hotel will be there in 15-20 minutes.
  • Rooms Pleso by Airport Zagreb - No airport shuttle.
  • Hotel Pleso - Free airport shuttle is available. The shuttle runs at 5:30AM, 6:30AM, 7:30AM and 9:00AM, outside of these hours call the hotel (+385 1 6253 600) for a free pick-up.
  • Barba Niko - Airport transfers are available for a fee - approx. 7,00€ each way.
  • Stari Jasen - Airport transfers available ($).

  • Baggage Trolleys - Available in both International and Domestic Arrivals.

  • Chapel - Available on the ground floor, to the left. Hours: Not known.
  • Children’s Play Area - Available in two locations (airside): Gate 12/13 and Gate 4/5.
  • Currency Exchange - Locations: Ground Floor and 2nd Floor. Hours: Not known.
  • Duty Free & Shopping - The airport has food options both Landside (4 options) and Airside (4 options). It is not known if any of these operate 24 hours.
  • Food & Drinks - The airport has food options (five locations) both Landside and Airside, most open at 7:00AM and close around 9:00PM.
  • Information Desk - Location: Ground Floor.
  • Luggage Storage & Lockers - Not available

The airport's official comment about sleeping in the airport:

"Yes, it is possible to stay overnight in the airport. Zagreb Airport is open 24 hours, 365 days/year. However, passengers can stay in the landside area, immediately before the body check. Once passengers get to the airport our employees at the Information desk will provide them with relevant information regarding conditions of overnight stay at the airport."

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Buses

“Pleso prijevoz” airport shuttles offer scheduled service between the airport and Zagreb Central Bus Station. A one-way journey takes about 25 minutes. ZET (Zagreb Electrical Tram) line 290 runs between Kvaternik Square and Velika Gorica, stopping at Zagreb Airport and nearly 20 other stops along the way. Buses depart every 35 minutes in either direction.
