What to Expect

Emerald Airport (code: EMD) has a small, recently renovated terminal that primarily operates flights to Brisbane. Facilities are very basic, which include a kiosk offering snacks and beverages. WiFi is available for a fee. For added comfort while you wait, economy class passengers can pay to enter an airport lounge. Sleeping in Emerald Airport

This airport closes nightly, so overnight stays are not possible. For uninterrupted sleep, nearby hotels offer shuttle service. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info, or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airport Hours

The airport is open Monday – Friday, from 5:30 AM until the last flight departure, usually around 8:00 PM. On weekends, hours of operation are minimal due to limited flight service.
