Food & Drinks – The airport’s only dining option is Bistro Airport. Hours: 8:30AM – 4:00PM (Mon-Fri) • Closed (Sat-Sun). Also open 2 hours before charter flight departures. Closed on Saturdays.

The airport’s hours of operations change depending on the season. Generally, the airport is open from approximately 7:00AM – 4:30PM (Mon-Fri) and closed on Saturdays to Sundays.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport
The following car rental agencies offer services onsite: Avis • Europcar • Hertz • Sixt. Reservations should be made in advance in order to pick up the keys to your rental car at the airport.

Värmlandstrafik offers an on-demand shuttle service between KSD airport and select destinations in central Karlstad. A reservation must be made at least 2 hours in advance if going to the airport, and at least 1 hour before landing at the airport. The trip between the airport and the city center lasts approximately 15 minutes. For routes, fares and reservations, visit the Värmlandstrafik website.
Taxis are available at the ground transportation area. All taxis are metered, and reservations are not required. At the time of this update, one-way fare between the airport and central Karlstad is SEK 360.
