What to Expect

Okayama Airport (code: OKJ) has a small terminal that primarily handles regional commuter flights. Amenities include three eateries, a cafe, and a few shops. WiFi is free in designated areas – look for signs for “Okayama Mobile Spot”.  For added comfort, economy class passengers can pay to enter an airport lounge and two waiting rooms.  See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.

Sleeping in Okayama Airport

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships

Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there are lounges that you can enter by paying at the door:

  • Muscat Lounge – Location: on the 3rd floor of the passenger terminal. Lounge Access: Pay at the Door (1000 YEN)
  • Mimasaka Fee-Based Waiting Room – Location: 2nd floor, airside.
  • Seto Fee-Based Waiting Room – Location: 2nd floor, airside.

Airline Lounges

If you are a First or Business Class traveller you may have access to the lounges listed below. For more information, check the airline’s website.

  • ANA Lounge – Location: 2nd Floor, Airside.
  • JAL Sakura Lounge – Location: 2nd Floor, Airside.

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Location: Check-in Hall, First floor, Landside. Hours: varies.

Baby Care Facilities – If you are travelling with an infant, there are baby care rooms for breastfeeding and diaper-changing. Locations: International Check-In/Arrivals Hall, 1F, Landside • Departures Hall, 2F, Airside. A changing table can also be found on the Transfer Deck, 3F.

Book Corner – If you would like to read while waiting for your flight, visit the airport’s book corner. There is no lending policy, so make sure to return the book before boarding your flight. Location: Domestic Departure Hall, 2F, Airside.

Children’s Play Area – When you want to ensure your kids burn off all their energy before their flight, take them to the children’s play area. Location: 2nd Floor, Domestic Departures.

Currency Exchange – Travelex provides foreign currency exchange services. Location: 1st Floor. Hours: open daily from 7:00AM – 9:00PM.

Duty Free & Shopping – Duty free shops an be found adjacent to the International flight boarding/waiting area, 2nd floor. Other shops include: Seikatsu Saika convenience store • Okayama Tokusankan Momotaro souvenir shop • Ana Festa souvenir shop • Tenmaya souvenir shop.

Food & Drinks – There are no 24 hour options at the airport but you can choose from the following restaurants – Chalon Steak House • St. Marc Cafe (coffee) • Yamagoya (ramen shop) • Momotaro (Udon noodle house). Location: 2nd floor.

Information Desk – If you have any questions, there is a general information enter to provide you with answers. Location: Check-In/Arrivals Hall, 1st floor, Landside. Hours: 8:10AM – 10:00PM.

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Coin-operated lockers are available to store your bags. Location: Landside, 1F Check-in Hall. Rates: ¥200 / day (Small) • ¥400 / day (Medium) • ¥ 500/ day (Large) • ¥600 / day(Extra Large).

Massage Chairs – Relax and unwind before your flight with one of the airport’s coin-operated massage chairs. Locations: Airside, 2F Departure Hall, Domestic and International Areas. Rate: ¥200 / 10 minutes.

Medical Services – Automated external defibrillators (AED) are located in the domestic and international check-in areas.

Mobile Charging – Charge your devices at one of the airport’s charging corners. Location: 2nd Floor (2 x Domestic area • 1 International area).

Bus and Shuttle Services
