To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Pereira Matecaña International Airport.

What to Expect

Pereira Airport (code: PEI) has a small, outdated terminal that handles domestic and international traffic. A new terminal to replace the current one is currently under construction, with a planned completion in 2019. Facilities include a variety of shops and eateries as well as free WiFi.  You may be able to gain access to the airport lounge.  See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.

Sleeping in Pereira Airport

We do not yet have any sleep-related airport reviews, but it seems this airport closes nightly.  Have a backup plan if you’re planning to spend the night.  For uninterrupted sleep, hotels are nearby. In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs, operated by Servibanca and Banco de Bogota, are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Location: unknown.

Currency Exchange – Jaibana offers foreign currency exchange in the airport.

Food & Drinks – Food concessions throughout the airport operate with varying schedules. At the time of this update, we are unable to confirm the availability of any 24-hour dining options.

Mobile Charging – A reader let us know that while there are no dedicated mobile charging stations, power outlets are available on the walls in the waiting area.

Metered taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area. A one-way journey between the airport and city center takes about 10 minutes.
