A joint public-military facility, Tokushima Awaodori Airport has a small terminal that handles a few domestic routes. A brand new international terminals service seasonal and charter flights from China. Amenities include a few eateries and shops, a designated rest zone, and free WiFi. Where to To Sleep

It seems this airport closes nightly, so have a backup plan if you’re planning to spend the night. For uninterrupted sleep, hotels are nearby. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover At The Airport

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: 1st Floor, on the right side of the main entrance.

Baby Care Facilities – Nursing rooms are available:1st Floor, on the right side of the main entrance • 3rd Floor, left side near the shops.

Currency Exchange – Not available.

Duty Free & Shopping – It is not known if Duty Free shopping is available. You will find a variety of shops selling local specialities. A 7-Eleven (Hours: 6:15AM – 9:10AM) may come in handy for last minute snack and drink needs. Most of the other shops operate from 6:15AM – 8:20PM.

Food & Drinks – At the time of this update, there are no 24 hour concessions. You will find four restaurants on the 3rd Floor. Hours vary with the Rich Burger Factory being opened the earliest at 6:15AM. All restaurants close at 8:20PM.

Information Desk – An Information Desk is available on the 1st floor, centre hall. Hours: unknown.

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Storage lockers are available. Location: 1st Floor, on the right side of the main entrance. Hours and rates are not known.

Medical Services – Automatic defibrillators can be found on the 1st and 3rd Floors.

Mobile Charging – Available. 1st Floor, on the left side of the main entrance. Rapid chargers can also be found on the 1st and 3rd Floors. Rates: 200 yen/30 mins.

Observation Deck – Relax and watch planes taking off and landing from the vantage point of the airport’s observation deck. Location: 3rd Floor.

Showers – Not available.

Smoking – Smoking is permitted in designated areas on the 3rd floor (both Landside and Airside).

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

The airport is connected via bus to the city including Tokushima Station for onward travel destinations. The journey to the Tokushima is 40 minutes* and costs 440 yen. For more information, visit the Tokushima Awaodori Airport website.

*At the time of this February 2019 update, the airport is warning of significant delays due to the conditions of the roads.

Car Rentals

Car rental counters are located on the 1st Floor, no further information is known.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available at the airport. As of February 2019, sample approximate fares are: Matsusige (High Speed Bus Terminal) for 1,400 yen (8 mins) ; Tokushima Station for 3,800 yen (25 mins); Naruto Station for 2,300 yen (20 mins).
