  • For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels within 35 minutes of the airport, though only some provide airport transfers, for a fee. See our Airport Hotel section below for more info.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships

Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there is a lounge that you can enter through a lounge membership program (ie. Priority Pass). If sleeping in Yichang Sanxia Three Gorges Airport does not appeal to you, these are some of the closest hotels to the airport:

Airport WiFi/Internet

Free WiFi is available at Yichang Airport. Connect to the “SXAirport Free WiFi” or “CMCC-Airport WiFi” networks.

More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover At The Airport

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Location: opposite of International Departure Hall.

Baby Care Facilities – A mother and child room is available. Location: at the left side of the Disney boutique in the post-screening area of the second floor. Same location as the play area for children. The airport also offers strollers for use.

Baggage Carts – Need a hand with your luggage? Baggage carts are available free of charge throughout the airport.

Business Center – Location: in the Domestic Arrival Hall.

Children’s Play Area – When you want to ensure your kids burn off all their energy before their flight, take them to the children’s play area. Location: Airside, at the left side of the Disney boutique in the post-screening area on the second floor.

Currency Exchange – Available in the ticket office.

Duty Free & Shopping – Duty Free shopping is available on the 2nd Floor. There are a few souvenir type shops available both landside and airside including a Wan Sheng Tea Shop.

Food & Drinks – There are 3 coffee shops and 1 restaurant available, hours are not known.

Information Desk – Located at the center of the departure hall. They also provide things like loaner universal chargers, medicine kits and disposable cups.

Luggage Storage & Lockers – See the office at the exit of the Passenger Arrival Hall. Rates for bags no bigger than 20 x 40 x 55 cm are ¥15/day (24-hour period and note that periods of less than one day will be counted as one day).

Luggage Wrapping – Luggage wrapping rates starts at ¥10/piece, cartons start at ¥10/piece and go up to ¥40/piece. Location: at the entrance to the airport.

Medical Services – Location: on the West side of 1st floor of the Departure Hall. Hours: 7:00AM – 10:00PM.

Post Office – Postal services are available at the Airport General Service Counter. Rest Zones – Information not available.

Smoking – A smoking lounge is located on the 2nd Floor adjacent to Security Check area, you can have your shoes shined at the same time.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Airport Buses

For a fraction of the price of a taxi, an airport bus service offers transportation between the airport and Qingjiang Hotel in downtown Yichang. Buses run according to daily flight schedule.


Taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area of the airport. Meters are often “broken” or “unavailable”, so be prepared to negotiate a fare with the driver before starting your journey.
