What to Expect

The small, brand new terminal at Salalah Airport (code: SLL) offers regional and seasonal flights. Amenities include a few basic eateries, duty-free shops, and newsstands. WiFi is free but isn’t always reliable. Economy class passengers can pay to enter two airport lounges, and both have showers for freshening up. Sleeping in Salalah Airport

We do not yet have any sleep-related airport reviews.  For uninterrupted sleep, nearby hotels offer shuttle service for a fee. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships

Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there is a lounge that you can enter by paying at the door, purchasing a lounge pass or through a lounge membership program. Visit the individual lounge page for more details about the lounge itself and to also find out how you can gain lounge access with just an economy class ticket!

  • Al Khareef Lounge by Oman Air – Location: Airside, Departure Level, 1st Floor, opposite Gate 3B. Showers are available. Lounge Access: Prepaid lounge passes • Lounge membership programs.

If sleeping in Salalah airport sounds like a nightmare, there are several nearby hotels within a 15 minute drive.  At the time of this update we were able to find any that provide a free shuttle.  Visit Tripadvisor to see a list of hotels near Salalah Airport that can be sorted by price, distance, traveller rating and popularity.

Unlimited free WiFi is available at Salalah Airport. In addition, Airside offers a Multimedia Corner with iPads which are connected to free internet.

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: 1st Floor.

Baggage Trolleys – Need a hand with your luggage? Baggage trolleys are available free of charge in the car parks, at the entrance of the terminal building, and in the baggage reclaim area. The airport also has a porter service that costs RO1.500.

Children’s Play Area – When you want to ensure your kids burn off all their energy before their flight, take them to the children’s play area. Location: Airside, opposite the Oman Air Al Khareef Lounge.

Currency Exchange – Travelex offers services in the following locations: Near the Information Desk • Arrivals Mezzanine before immigration counter • Airside, opposite the Duty Free shop.

Duty Free & Shopping – Duty Free shopping is available in 2 locations: in the middle of the Departure Corridor • Baggage Claim, near belt 3. Additionally, you will find 2 Hudson News outlets and 2 telecommunications stores (SIM card purchase, etc.).

Food & Drinks – All of the restaurants/coffee shops are open 24 hours. You will find: Costa Coffee (Airside Gate 3B) • Dora Cafe (Arrivals) • Olympic Cafe (Airside, opposite Duty Free) • Subway (Airside, opposite Duty Free).

Information Desk – Have any questions? There is an information desk available on the 1st floor to provide you with assistance.

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.

Luggage Wrapping – Protect your bags from theft and damage by having your bags wrapped in plastic. Location: near check in area. Rates: 2.000 OMR/regular bag • 2.500 OMR/large bag • 3.000 OMR/extra large bag.

Medical Services – If you feel unwell or injure yourself, a medical center can be found in the arrivals terminal, landside. Hours: 24 hours.

Mobile Charging – In July 2017, a reader let us know “There is no mobile charging but you will find two power sockets by the metal pillars next to each gate”.

Prayer Room – There are prayer rooms for males and females including facilities for ablution. Locations: Level 0, close to the escalator • Airside, opposite Gate 1B • Airside, opposite Gate 4B.

Rest Zones – There are no dedicated sleeping areas, quiet areas or rest zones. If this information has changed, click here to update this guide.

Smoking Areas – Designated smoking areas can be found on all levels of the airport.
